AS Express Fast Craft: Toledo-San Carlos City (vv)

Posted on Updated on

From Cebu City (Philippines), a more enjoyable trip going to Negros Occidental (or Bacolod City, at that) is via San Carlos City, either, on board Ceres Bus “direct trip” to Bacolod City Via Toledo City-San Carlos City or via Don Salvador; OR, a “cutting trip” (Ceres Bus or VHire or Mini Bus) from Cebu City to Toledo City, transfer to AS Express Fast Craft or Aznar Ro-Ro Barge to San Carlos City, a “trisikad” ride to San Carlos City Bus Terminal to take a Ceres Bus or V-Hire (L300 Van for Hire) to Bacolod City.

A “Land Trip” to Bacolod City would definitely take longer than by air, but, it is the intermingling with the local folks, the immersion on the day-to-day life scenes and the the greenery in the outskirts of Cebu Province and Negros Occidental that make the trip worthwhile. An experience incomparable to that when with one’s waist bound by the seatbelt.

I have tried all wheels of this travel and I am glad that I got lucky one time when our boat was joined by a school of wild dolphins flipping and jumping while we cruise towards San Carlos City. Something I would definitely have missed had I taken the Wings on Air. Who knows, you’d be lucky on your trip via San Carlos City.

Note:

Cebu South Terminal to Toledo City – 2 Hours; Toledo City to San Carlos City – 1 hour (via AS Express Fast Craft) or 2 hours (via Aznar Ro-Ro Barge); San Carlos City to Bacolod City – 4 hours.

Fare: Php700.00++ (?) …. it was PHP530.00 before the gas price increases. Still far less than by Air.

(By Air, travel time from Cebu City to Bacolod City (via Silay City Airport) is 20 minutes;  Silay City Airport to Bacolod City Proper takes another 25 minutes.

    Latest I heard, A.S.Express Fastcraft closed it’s operation. One Fastcraft service though is still in operation for Toledo City to San Carlos City and vice versa (see Travel Guide page for the current schedule). Thanks.

      Good day!!

      I just wanted to inquire to what you call “cutting trip”? Is it possible na ma elaborate nyu further kung anu yung gagawin? I’m from Bacolod and I seldomly go to Cebu.I usually take the direct route. Which among the two can save more time and which is cheaper? Thanks in advance… God bless!!

        As alternative ride to a “direct trip” (Ceres Bus) from Cebu City to Toledo City, on can opt to take:

        VIA TOLEDO CITY:
        (1) V-Hire (Van-for-Hire) at One City Link Terminal (few meters, going south, from South Bus Terminal). Fare: P100+/person;
        (2) Mini Bus at South Bus Terminal P100+/person.
        BOTH going to Toledo City at Bus Terminal along Portside.

        At Toledo City Bus Terminal, take a tricycle for the Port Area. Take a Fast Craft or the Barge for San Carlos City on schedule (not sure about the current schedule. Before, it’s around 10:30AM; 12Noon, 3PM etc.).

        At San Carlos City Port, take a tricycle to the Bus Terminal. There’s a bus or V-Hire for Bacolod City (either via Don Salvador or via Escalante).

        VIA DUMAGUETE (AMLAN)
        (1) At Cebu South Bus Terminal, at 6:00-6:30AM, there’s a one trip to Bacolod City via Mabinay;
        (2) Ceres bus to Dumaguete. At Tampi/Amlan Port, transfer to a Ceres Bus to Bacolod City or, if none, Kabankalan City then take another ceres bus to Bacolod City.

        At Amlan, almost every 30-45mins, a Ceres Bus to Kabankalan City passes by.
        At Kabankalan City Terminal, every 30mins, a Ceres bus leaves for Bacolod City.

        Generally, “cutting trip” saves more time and cheaper.

        Thanks, happy trip!

      From Iloilo City (Panay), to get to San Carlos City (Negros Occidental),
      you need to get to Bacolod City first via a fastcraft, then a bus trip to San Carlos City.

      Fastcraft: from Iloilo City to Bacolod City … almost 2 hrs.
      Ceres Bus Trip: From Bacolod City to San Carlos …. almost 4 hrs (if via Escalante)
      Ceres Bus Trip: From Bacolod City to San Carlos …. almost 1.5 hrs (if via Don Salvador Benedicto aka DSB)

      Note: Check the schedule with the fastcraft and the ceres bus (north terminal @ 034-4334993) for the LATEST scheduled trips.
      Happy safe trip! 🙂
