[...] ferry will dock in san carlos city in negros. here’s the ferry schedule that i got from a blog: Travel Guide stilldrops I have no information about boat rentals from malapascua to negros. the whole country shuts down [...]
stilldrops says: 4Jan’08 Here are other options:
1. Malapascua to Dumaguete City proper:
a. From Malapascua, take the National Road to Liloan (Cebu) Port. Passenger Fast Craft is every 30 minutes whole day. Trip takes a mere 10-15mins trip. From Liloan Port, fascraft docks at Sibulan (Negros Oriental) Port where public “multicabs”(small passenger cabs. 15pax capacity) awaits. Php7.00/pax to Dumaguete City proper or hire the entire cab (“pakyaw”, pronounced as “PUCK-yeow”). About 20-30mins from Sibulan to Dumaguete City.
b. From Malapascua, take the National Road to Bato (Cebu) Port. Double Check “Maayo Shipping Lines” passenger/cargo ferry boat (Roll On-Roll Off (“Ro-Ro”) for private cars and buses) schedule. It’s a “first come first serve basis” for private cars to be carried to or fro. 20 mins trip. From Bato Port, ferry boat docks at Tampi (Negros Oriental) Port near AMLAN (petrol depot). You need to flag down (“by chance”) passing Ceres Buses or public “multicabs”(small passenger cabs) to get to Dumaguete City proper. About 45mins-1hr from Tampi/AMLAN to Dumaguete City.
Note: One can arrange with any Dumaguete Hotels for car service, including a Sibulan or Tampi port pick up.
2. Dumaguete City-Siquijor:
Take Fast Craft or Pump Boat (you can rent by “pakyaw”, the entire pumpboat or arrange with Diving service companies. I have no idea how much the current fare or the “pakyaw” rate is.
3. Dumaguete City-Bacolod City (Negros Occidental):
Ceres Bus or Van-for-Hire. 4-5hrs trip. Aircon bus travels faster than ordinary/non-aircon bus.
4. Dumaguete City-San Carlos City (Negros Occidental):
Ceres Bus or Van-for-Hire. 4-5hrs trip. Aircon bus travels faster than ordinary/non-aircon bus.
Taking the National Road from Malapascua to Liloan/Bato Port to Dumaguete City and Siquijor is faster and less tiring. Travel by air from Cebu-Dumaguete (and vice versa), or Dumaguete-Bacolod/Silay (and vv), is not available, unless via private plane. Cebu-Bacolod/Silay (and vv) and Cebu-Iloilo (and vv) are the only available air travels to these destinations.
Thanks and have a great time exploring the Visayas.

The events in the "Star Wars" trilogy (times two) take place in a galaxy far, far away -- that much is obvious. But it takes a whole lot of planets, moons and asteroids to make a galaxy. How much do you know about where Wookiees, Weequays and wampas come from?
