AS Express Fast Craft: Toledo-San Carlos City (vv)

Posted on Updated on

From Cebu City (Philippines), a more enjoyable trip going to Negros Occidental (or Bacolod City, at that) is via San Carlos City, either, on board Ceres Bus “direct trip” to Bacolod City Via Toledo City-San Carlos City or via Don Salvador; OR, a “cutting trip” (Ceres Bus or VHire or Mini Bus) from Cebu City to Toledo City, transfer to AS Express Fast Craft or Aznar Ro-Ro Barge to San Carlos City, a “trisikad” ride to San Carlos City Bus Terminal to take a Ceres Bus or V-Hire (L300 Van for Hire) to Bacolod City.

A “Land Trip” to Bacolod City would definitely take longer than by air, but, it is the intermingling with the local folks, the immersion on the day-to-day life scenes and the the greenery in the outskirts of Cebu Province and Negros Occidental that make the trip worthwhile. An experience incomparable to that when with one’s waist bound by the seatbelt.

I have tried all wheels of this travel and I am glad that I got lucky one time when our boat was joined by a school of wild dolphins flipping and jumping while we cruise towards San Carlos City. Something I would definitely have missed had I taken the Wings on Air. Who knows, you’d be lucky on your trip via San Carlos City.

Note:

Cebu South Terminal to Toledo City – 2 Hours; Toledo City to San Carlos City – 1 hour (via AS Express Fast Craft) or 2 hours (via Aznar Ro-Ro Barge); San Carlos City to Bacolod City – 4 hours.

Fare: Php700.00++ (?) …. it was PHP530.00 before the gas price increases. Still far less than by Air.

(By Air, travel time from Cebu City to Bacolod City (via Silay City Airport) is 20 minutes;  Silay City Airport to Bacolod City Proper takes another 25 minutes.
