Pinoys love to sing. Any fun occasion is never complete without it. Be it with a ”karaoke”, magic sing, guitar or even with a beatbox or just a beat from a table or one’s lap. And don’t worry about the tune (Mr.Cowell’s not in there anyway lol). As long as you have the heart to hold the mic and belt a note, you’re in for the fun. It’s fun time not a an Idol contest. Just sing! (But an applause is not always to confirm you really did well … could be … hmmm … as if saying, “you’re okay, who’s next? pass the mic”.)
Pinoys love/enjoy receiving gifts especially at Christmas. Be it “pasalubong” or a “real gift”. Women and men alike.
Usually, one would say, “it’s okay, don’t bother.” It’s how uniquely Pinoys are. Of course, not receiving a gift would not “really” break the bond, but receiving a “gift” will bring that instant smile! … It’s not really the “physical gift” that matters, it’s the fact that one is “remembered”. That gift is a symbol of being really recognized. That makes a lot of difference. Pinoys really know how to return a token of appreciation and recognition … one gift could write the walls for a lifetime and even Pinoys’ “life on the line” … for the giver. If you really want to know, you know exactly what to do. Yes, I’m on for your gift

Pinoys just love their “maong” (blue jeans). It’s a wear-any time-anywhere-any occasion outfit. A foreigner-tourist friend once asked why pinoys almost always wear maong regardless of the heat of the sun. I couldn’t get a single answer for that … it’s every reason there is … fashion, it’s casual and adaptable and acceptable to dress code requirements; great wear for leg protection (from spiky clinging wild grass in the rural areas, mud, bike leg accidents, and even snake or dog bites (just in case); no-ironing get up; no-frequent washing for some or many; it’s just “IT”. I remember what a an old friend had to say: “Wear with a shirt, you’re in casual attire; wear with a collared shirt/polo, you’re in semi-formal; Tuck it in and you’re in a formal attire … ready anytime, anytime.”

“Pinoy” is a coined word to refer to a citizen of the Philippines. A word derived from the word “Filipinos“.
Cebuanos (people born in Cebu City) are wonderful people. The City is a History in itself. Home to a great number of personalities who were instrumental in shaping the Nation … even up to the present times … no wonder, Cebu is continuously emerging as a prestigious city …. always moving forward towards development and prosperity … the people, the land, the Nation, the World. A City that made it’s mark in history and the future with it’s leaders, music, hospitality, tourism and the drive to the top.
Perhaps, we have seen the popular places and heard of personalities; but to understand it all, we need to get a grasp of the dialect … the cebuano …
While a good number of Filipinos are well-versed in the Cebuano and Bisaya dialect, still, a considerable number can hardly get a grasp of it. For those who are curious and wanting to learn, let’s take some bits together.
