Ms. Kris Aquino-Yap et al in La Carlota City (Negros Occ)

Today, I wore the yellow band and the black -with-the-yellow-ribbon-dove shirt.  The entourage for Noynoy Aquino (for President) and Mar Roxas (Vice-President) gets to visit La Carlota City … today- Ms. Kris Aquino-Yap along with Baby James, Ms.Luisa Cojuangco and Ms. Bambi Hilado (coordinator of Volunteers of Negros Occidental for Noynoy & Mar) et al.

 

Ms. Kris Aquino-Yap graciously stirred the crowd with a candid short-but-direct to the point speech and capped it with a raised arm flashing the “L” (Laban sign).  It was enough to heighten the spirits.

 

The crowd was all struck. Intently listening to each word of Ms. Kris Aquino-Yap. As gracious as they arrived, the crowd were never unruly at any time.  The smile, unfazed enthusiasm and determination she emulated in that short minutes left a mark … Ms. Kris-Aquino-Yap’s aura was infectious. 

     

Despite their hectic schedule, the hours of travelling to and from every City they visit just today; and the City incumbent’s being identified with another popular aspirant, the entourage exerted  substantial effort if only to reach La Carlota City.  We know it was physically challenging for the entourage.  Still, they managed.

 

Many wanted while others followed the entourage to their next stop, Bago City, and then, the Rally at the Bacolod City Plaza.

 

Thank you for the visit … voters are wiser now than ever.  No bluffing, no buy outs … my vote counts!  It is not for sale!

“Garra Rufa” Derma

Foot spa … skin spa … garra rufa …

The hot climate and burning pavement are killing the soles of my feet!  … the heels are left dry and dead (i mean, the skin). The soil are cracked, so are my heels …. worst, the dark powdery soil kept its mark.  Vanity isn’t in my vocabulary, but, plunging in a swimming pool or just raising up my foot (while watching a fave show) keep me noticed. 911!

As if the tube had known it, I chanced a regional morning show (yes, just today) about the wonders of this garra rufa fish for dead skin and skin disorders like psoriasis.  And I guess it’s worth a semi-serious (just yet) indulging …. and perhaps, keep a basinful (of the wonder fish) in our backyard for a pa-gusto therapy.  That sounds a nibbleful project for the hot summer into a happy feet.

Much has been heard and said of the garra rufa and the mushrooms of fish-foot spa, particularly in Asia and the nearby regions in the Philippines.  There are fakes, look-a-like and impostor-species they say. So are the warnings of possible transfer of skin infection and necessity of quality sanitation in the facilities.  Nevertheless, the fish spas are on spreading since the 2006.  And a place in Turkey started it all, the web says.

I haven’t heard so far of a facility in Bacolod City (Negros Occidental, Philippines) or Cebu City, neither of an Aqua pet shop supplying the original garra rufa fish (those with no teeth) … i sure need an extended home service.

Garra rufa foot derma? I’m totally in!  Come and nibble my heels and toes!

Road Woes: San Carlos City to Bacolod city

Negros Occidental is rich in culture, historical places, food, places for pleasure trips. There are indeed great-tourist-attracting places in the region but there are still  road  infrastructuresthat need a great deal of concern. (A substantial stretch of the National Road from San Carlos City to Bacolod City is car suspension-wrecking).
